Arthouse Film ‘The Wild Goose Lake’ Partners with Live-streamer Li Jiaqi to Sell Tickets

On December 4, two lead actors of the arthouse film The Wild Goose Lake, Hu Ge and Kwai Lun Mei, appeared on the Taobao live streaming channel of Li Jiaqi, one of the top e-commerce live-streamers in China, to promote the film and sell its ticket vouchers. The online event is co-presented by Taobao Live-streaming and digital film publicity platform Dengta, both are owned by Alibaba Group. Within 6 seconds, 255,000 ticket vouchers were sold out. 6.36 million viewers watched the live-streaming event hosted by Li, also known as “the number 1 seller of lipstick” (口红一哥). It is the second time of movie ticket sales through e-commerce live streaming, following the November 5 livestreaming promotion for the film My Dear Liar through another top live streamer Viya. National Alliance of Arthouse Cinemas to Release Documentary ‘Ryuichi Sakamoto: Coda’

Ryuichi Sakamoto: Coda‘, a musical documentary about acclaimed Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, has been scheduled to release on December 16 in China under the banner of China’s National Alliance of Arthouse Cinemas. Directed by Stephen Nomura Schible, the film screened in China at the 9th Beijing International Film Festival earlier this year, and all screenings were sold out.
