China’s Video-Sharing Site Bilibili Officially Listed on Nasdaq

Today, Nasdaq officially welcomes Bilibili (BILI), China’s leading video-sharing platform for young generations, to trade in its stock market. The company’s stock is priced at $11.5 for a total offering size of $483 million. In its prospectus, Bilibili reveals that the video platform has 76 million monthly active users, and over 80 percent of them are under 24 years old. Top 15 Domestic Film Distribution Companies in 2017

Ent Group takes a look at the domestic films released in 2017 and the companies that distributed them. Top 15 distribution companies are listed based on box office. Number one on the list is United Entertainment Partners (UEP), which distributed ten domestic films, including Wolf Warrior 2.  Number two is Bona Film Group, which distributed nine films, including Duckweed and Chasing the Dragon. Leading online ticketing platform and distributor Maoyan took the third spot on the list thanks to the box office success of comedy drama Never Say Die. ‘Detective Chinatown 3’ Set for 2020 Chinese New Year Release

Detective Chinatown 3, a sequel to 2018 Chinese New Year box office hit Detective Chinatown 2, will be released on the 2020 Chinese New Year’s Day, according to an announcement from director Chen Sicheng. According to Chen, Detective Chinatown 3 will be set in Tokyo, and again star Wang Baoqiang and Liu Haoran. Chen also says that Detective Chinatown 3 will be the last film of this series to be directed by him. He hopes to experiment with other genres and styles in the future. Read more on Mtime

Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ May be Released in China on May 11

Superhero film Avengers: Infinity War, a sequel to 2012’s The Avengers and 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron has scored a May 11 China released, according to unnamed sources. The film’s producer, Walt Disney Studios, hasn’t responded to media’s request for confirmation. In this third installment of the Avengers franchise, the Avengers join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to stop Thanos, who is trying to collect the Infinity Stones. Read more on Mtime
