Chinese Fans Call For An Earlier Theatrical Release of ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ in China
Chinese netizens called on Warner Brothers to bring DC superhero film “Wonder Woman 1984” to the Chinese mainland, arguing that it would be a good business move for both the company and the Chinese film market as the film would apparently make more in the mainland, where the COVID-19 pandemic remains under control, than in its home market. The call began after Warner Bros on Thursday announced that the film would premiere simultaneously in US theaters and on the HBO Max streaming service on December 25, Christmas Day. Is Baidu’s New Livestream Investment Really Fraudulent?
Baidu announced a $3.6 billion deal to buy Joyy’s Chinese livestreaming platform, YY Live, giving one of China’s biggest tech company an inroad to the country’s biggest trend of 2020. Now, only days later, a published report from short-seller firm Muddy Waters Research has attacked the credibility of YY Live, calling it almost completely fake business and “a multibillion-dollar fraud.” In a 71-page report, the founder of Muddy Waters, Carson Block, claimed the company is “90-percent fraudulent” and that it uses fake bots for interactions.
