Will Bilibili Become China’s YouTube?

On May 14, Chinese video platform Bilibili released the company’s 2019 Q1 financial report. While gaming remains as the company’s main revenue source, revenues gained from advertising, e-Commerce, live streaming and other services are increasing. Lunched as a platform for user-generated ACG (anime, comics and games) content, Bilibili has been gradually diversifying its content. Currently, the average amount of time an user spends on the site per day is 81 minutes thanks to Bilibili’s wide range of content channels, including comic review, live streaming, documentary, game broadcast, beauty, fashion, vlogs, online courses, and shopping among others. Hainan Island International Film Festival Launches Golden Coconut Award

The 2nd Hainan Island International Film Festival has been set to take place between December 1 and December 8 this year in Sanya, Hainan. With the aim of enhancing the festival’s credibility and authority in the industry, the 2nd edition of the festival will launch a competition section with the top awards named Golden Coconut. The competition section includes three categories, namely narrative feature, documentary feature and narrative short. Winners of Golden Coconut will also receive cash awards. Indian Film ‘Kaabil’ Set for June 5 China Release

2017 Indian Hindi action thriller film Kaabil has been set to release in China on June 5. Directed by Sanjay Gupta and written by Vijay Kumar Mishra, the film follows the story of a blind man as he seeks revenge against a corrupt politician and his brother after his wife is raped and killed.
