Upcoming Film ‘Bu Lang Man’ Stars Jia Zhangke

At the ongoing Pingyao International Film Festival, Chinese director Cheng Er released a trailer for his upcoming film, Pseudo Idealist, (Bu Lang Man, “Not Romantic”). The trailer shows that the renowned filmmaker and founder of the Pingyao International Film Festival Jia Zhangke is playing the protagonist of the film, which is the first time Jia joins a film as a lead actor. Bu Lang Man portraits a person working in the creative industry and his journey of self-discovery. Cheng Er previously directed action romantic drama The Wasted Times, which stars Ge You and Zhang Ziyi. Read more on Mtime

‘Detective Chinatown 3’ Releases Trailer, Eying 2020 Chinese New Year Release

Hit Chinese film franchise Detective Chinatown just released a new trailer and an official poster for it’s third installment. In the poster, the two protagonists stand on the street of Tokyo with a luggage aside and a map in their hands. Their confused facial expressions indicate an adventurous journey ahead in bustling Japanese city. The first two films in the Detective Chinatown series took place in Thailand and New York, respectively. In each film, the two main characters detective Tang Ren and detective Qin Feng go on an adventurous and dramatic journey in the chinatown of a foreign country. All three films in the series are directed by Chen Sicheng. Detective Chinatown 3 is set to release on the 2020 Chinese New Year’s Day. Read more on Mtime
