Tencent’s Hit Web Series ‘The Untamed’ to Stream on Netflix

Chinese hit costume drama series The Untamed (陈情令) will be available on video streaming site Netflix on October 25, according to Mtime. Based on a web novel entitled Mo Dao Zu Shi (魔道祖师), the 50-episode web series was first released on Tencent Video last June, and made its two lead actors, Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo, become hottest male stars in China. Xiao Zhan then starred in a fantasy film Jade Dynasty (诛仙), which grossed over RMB400 million (US$56.53 M) at the Chinese Box Office. Wang Yibo will also star in a new drama series Legend Of Fei (有翡) with popular actress Zhao Liying. Read more on Mtime

Beijing Leshi Tower to Be Sold by Judicial Auction

Beijing Leshi Tower, the headquarter building of Leshi, will be listed for judicial auction from 10 AM on November 18 to 10 AM the next day, according to an announcement of Beijing No.3 Intermediate People’s Court. Bidding will start at RMB 678 million. Leshi, owned by Sunac China, has preemptive right to purchase the property. Moreover, In the U.S., Jia Yueting, the founder and former CEO of Leshi, filed for bankruptcy on October 13. It was also reported that Jia Yueting and his wife Gan Wei has applied for divorce on October 11 in a court located in Chengdu, Sichuan. Jia has paid Gan Wei two separate “family support fees,” a US$400,000 and a US$110,000, on February 28 and July 23 respectively. Read more on Sina
