Shanghai Launches 24-Hour Movie Theaters

On July 15, a launch ceremony for the first two 24-hour movie theaters took place in Shanghai. The two movie theaters that are approved by the Shanghai municipal government to operate after mid-night are the Grand Theater and the Cathay Theater. This is part of the city government’s efforts in enriching the night life in Shanghai. ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’ to Release in China

It was announced today that the English-language adventure comedy film The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir would be brought to China for a thesaterical release, although a release date is yet to be confirmed. Directed by Ken Scott and starring Dhanush, the film is based on a novel titled The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe, which was originally written in French. UK National Film and Television School to Participate in Pingyao International Film Festival

The National Film and Television School of the UK is participating in the Pingyao Corner of Jia Zhangke’s Pingyao International Film Festival. Pingyao Corner is the educational section of the Festival, aiming to provide a platform for top film schools in China and abroad to connect and exchange with the festival as well as with each other.
