Shanghai Disneyland to Build First ‘Zootopia’ Themed Zone

On December 9, Shanghai Disney Resort announced that the construction of the new Zootopia-themed zone has started at the Shanghai Disneyland, with site preparation work completed. Located adjacent to Fantasyland, the new zone will be inhabited by characters from the 2016 Walt Disney animated film, and features new tourist attractions as well as performance programs. US-China Animation Co-production ‘Nezha: Transformers’ Released First Trailer

The China Central Television-owned animation studio, CCTV Animation Company today released a film poster and a trailer of Nezha: Transformers, an animated series co-produced by the company and American media company Hasbro. In the trailer, Nezha turns himself into a giant Transformer character. The company also said that the series will finish the production and start broadcasting in 2020. ‘Frozen II’ Gets Theatrical Extension in China

Walt Disney’s animated feature film Frozen II has been granted a month-long theatrical extension in China. The film has grossed RMB 725 million (US$103.06 M) since it opened on November 22 in China. The previous film, Frozen, also got a China theatrical release in 2013 and earned RMB300 million at the box office. With the extension, the Chinese audience can see Frozen II in theatres until January 20, 2020. Read more on Mtime
