Online Voting Opens for China’s 35th Hundred Flowers Film Awards

Online voting has opened for Chinese audiences to nominate candidates for the 35th Hundred Flowers Awards, a top film award held once every two years in China. A list of five nominees for each of the eight categories, including best film, screenwriter, director, actor, actress, supporting actor, supporting actress and emerging artist, will be formed following the voting that is set to run until Aug. 25. India Widens Bans On Chinese Tech With a Second List of 47 More Chinese Apps

Chinese search engine Baidu Search and social media platform Weibo were blocked by internet service providers and removed from Google and Apple app stores in India on Tuesday, the latest of the total 106 Chinese apps shut down in the country in recent weeks. The Indian government publicly released a list of 59 banned Chinese apps on June 29, and announced a second list of 47 Chinese apps on July 27.
