Media Giant CMC to Launch CMC Times Entertainment

On April 4, Chinese media and entertainment giant CMC Inc. (China Media Capita) announced the launch of CMC Times Entertainment as a consolidated platform for its fashion, lifestyle and live entertainment assets. Centered around fashion and music, the platform aims to become a destination for young people to consume pop content and products. Over the past few years, CMC Inc. has been actively expanding in lifestyle and live entertainment sectors. CMC Times Entertainment has worked with international partners to successfully bring various live entertainment franchises, such as EDC, Channel R and Corona Sunsets Festival, into the China market. Huaxia Film to Form Strategic Partnership with RealD

It’s just announced that China’s Huaxia Film Distribution had reached a partnership deal with cinema technology provider RealD. Based on the agreement, Huaxia will install 100 RealD 3D systems and 100 RealD Ultimate Screens in the company’s newly launched cinema chain Cinity before October this year. Cinity integrates a wide range of cutting-edge technologies, such as 4K, 3D, HFR, HDR, WCG and Immersive Sound, to provide moviegoers the highest-standard of viewing experience. Launched in 2016, RealD Ultimate Screen is a innovative and state-of -the-art screen technology and has received the 2016 HPA (Hollywood Professional Association) Awards for Engineering Excellence. Talent Television & Film Co. Sues Actor Gao Yunxiang 

On April 4, a lawsuit filed by Talent Television & Film Co. is accepted by a Beijing court. The lawsuit is against actor Gao Yunxiang and his wife’s company Beijing Yixuan Culture Co. for the damage Gao brought to a Chinese drama series called A Na Ya Lian Qing, which was produced by Talent TV & Film Co. In 2018, Gao Yunxiang was accused of sexually assaulting a woman when he was shooting the show in Australia. The scandal led tothe cancellation of the show by several TV channels, hence brought financial damages to the producer. Talent TV & Film Co. also had a hard time profiting from other shows that involved Gao, including the TV show Legend of Ba Qing, which co-stars Fan Bingbing. Read more on 21CBH
