Gong Li to Head the 55th Golden Horse Awards Jury
With the invitation from celebrated filmmaker Ang Lee, Head of Executive Committee for the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, Chinese actress Gong Li will head the jury for the 55th Golden Horse Awards. Gong Li is one of the best-known Chinese actresses on the international stage. Her previous works include Red Sorghum, Ju Dou, Raise The Red Lantern, Farewell My Concubine, and The Story of Qiu Ju. ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ May Get An August 3 China Release
According to unnamed sources from the internet, American musical romantic comedy film Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again has scored an August 3 China release. Two other foreign films that have been scheduled to release on August 3 are Hirokazu Kore-eda’s award-winning Shoplifters and French action comedy Taxi 5. Directed and written by Ol Parker, the film is a sequel to the 2008 film Mamma Mia!. Mamma Mia! Russo Brothers Deny Supervising ‘Captain China’
Rumors are circulating on the internet that a Chinese superhero movie titled Capitan China has been launched with Russo Brothers being the Executive Producers of the film. Today, Russo Brothers made a statement on Chinese social media platform Weibo, saying that “To be clear, this film (Capitan China) is NOT being supervised by us. We’ve never ever heard of it.
