China to Begin Reopening Cinemas In Low Risk Areas Starting July 20

The China Film Administration dropped breaking news on Thursday noon, stating that those theaters in low-risk areas in China “can resume business in an orderly manner on July 20, with the effective implementation of prevention and control measures”. Online Game Adaptation Film ‘Double World’ to Be Released on IQiyi

“Double World”, a fantasy adventure film adapted from one of China’s most popular online games will make its online debut in both China and overseas later this July thanks to a deal with Netflix. Amidst the uncertainty created by the protracted theater closure, the producers of the film announced on Monday that they will forgo a theatrical released in favor of debuting it on iQiyi, the streaming giant in China.
