China Release Date for Louye’s ‘Saturday Fiction’ Announced at Venice Film Festival

Today, a press conference for Chinese filmmaker Louye’s new film Saturday Fiction was held at the Venice Film Festival. Starring Gong Li, Mark Chao and Jô Odagiri, the film has been selected to compete for the Golden Lion Award. It was revealed during the press conference that the film had scored a December 7 China release. Set in 1941 in Shanghai, Saturday Fiction is a black and white thriller film centered around an actress who works undercover to collect information for the allies. Read more on Mtime

American Film ‘Crawl’ Sets for September 20 China Release

It is announced today that American disaster horror film Crawl has been scheduled to release in China on September 20. A Chinese poster and a trailer of the film has also been released today. Directed by Alexandre Aja, the film stars Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner) as the female lead Haley, and Barry Pepper as Haley’s father. In Crawl, the daughter and father is trapped in the basement of their house during a supercharged hurricane in Florida and find themselves being hunted by a group of alligators. Read more on Mtime
