CAA China to Rep ‘End of Summer’ Director Zhou Quan

CAA China has signed on with Chinese film director Zhou Quan, according to the company’s official WeChat media account. Born in Zhejiang province, Zhou Quan earned an MFA degree in directing from American Film Institute and was selected into the 2015 Berlinale Talents and the 2014 Golden Horse Film Academy. In 2017, Zhou Quan shot his feature debut End of Summer, which was written based on his personal coming-of-age experience. The film won KNN Movie Award (Audience Award) at the 22nd Busan International Film Festival as well as the HAF Award at 13th Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum,  and entered over 20 international film festivals including Rome, Beijing, Pingyao, and Minsk. It also got distributions in France, Spain, Portugal, and Southeast Asian countries. Zhou also partnered with his production team and found a film company named Each Other Pictures, aiming to collaborate with filmmakers from Hollywood and Greater China region to create Chinese-language film/drama series to the international market. First ‘One Belt One Road’ Film Premieres in Beijing

On August 22, the world premiere of the first “One Belt One Road” film Common Destiny took place in Beijing. The film follows a truck as it cruises along the ancient silk road. Crew members of the film are comprised of over 300 filmmakers from different countries, such as China, the U.S. and the U.K. Common Destiny is set to release in China on August 30. Read more on Mtime
