11th China Film Directors’ Guild Awards Unveiled Winners

China Film Directors’ Guild hosted an annual commendation ceremony in Beijing last Saturday and unveiled the winners for its 11th edition of guild awards. Last year’s sci-fi box office sensation “The Wandering Earth” won the best film award. Art-house auteur Wang Xiaoshuai won the best director award for his family saga “So Long, My Son”. The film’s leading actor Wang Jingchun, also won best actor. Derek Tsang’s “Better Days” also earned two awards: best director from Hong Kong/Taiwan and the best actress for Zhou Dongyu. 35th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival Opens in Zhengzhou

The China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival 2020 opened on Thursday in Zhengzhou, central China’s Henan Province. Jointly initiated by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Film Association in 1992, the film festival is one of the most professional and authoritative film festivals on the Chinese mainland. Film-related exhibitions and forums will be held during the three-day event, and films will be screened for the public at 101 outdoor spots in the city.
