Will Tencent Lose NBA’s China Broadcasting Rights Next Season?

The NBA finals just took place last month and Chinese sports streaming giants have started fighting for its next season’s broadcasting rights in China. Currently, the rights is owned by Tencent Sports, which signed a deal with NBA in 2015. But as the deal will expire in January 2021, everyone in this sector is guessing if Tencent will be able to renew the contract with NBA. Among all the other Chinese sports streaming platforms, Alibaba and Suning have the capabilities to compete with Tencent. There is also a rumor that Alibaba and Suning are in talks to consolidate and merge their sports businesses by setting up a joint venture. French Animated Film ‘Minuscule – Mandibles from Far Away’ Set for August 23 China Release

Minuscule – Mandibles from Far Away, a 2018 French animated film has been scheduled to release in China on August 23, the same day when Fast & Furious: Hobbs and Shaw will open in Chinese theaters. Minuscule-Mandibles from Far Away premiered in China at this year’s Shanghai International Film Festival and then reached a theatrical distribution deal in China.
