Three Trends in China’s Gaming Sector

After being heavily regulated and adjusted in 2018, China’s gaming sector is seeing significant revenue growth again in the first half of 2019. At the recent China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference (ChinaJoy) in Shanghai, three trends are identified. They are overseas expansion, eSports and 5G cloud gaming. First, as Chinese gaming companies continue to grow, many of them start seeking opportunities to expand in other regions, such as the US, Europe and South East Asia. Secondly, eSports is booming in China, which is reflected by a large number of players, government’s favorable policies and increasingly developed industry infrastructures. Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham Came to China for ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ Premiere

Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, the spin-off from The Fast & Furious franchise premiered in Beijing last night. The film’s director David Leitch and two lead actors Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham attended the premiere event and interacted with Chinese fans. This is David Leitch’s third directorial work. Previously, he directed Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw is set to open in Chinese theaters on August 23. Read more on Mtime
