‘The Angry Birds Movie 2’ Set for August 16 China Release
Animated adventure movie The Angry Birds Movie 2 has been scheduled to release in China on August 16, two days after its North American opening. The film is based on the Angry Birds video game series, which has been downloaded over 4 billion times. The first installment of the Angry Bird movie series was released in 2016 and raked in $350 worldwide. In China, the game and the movie series also have a big following. Is Romantic Drama The Best Genre for Interactive Content?
It seems that interactive content is considered the next hot thing by many Chinese video streaming platforms. Over the past few months, all three top Chinese video streaming platforms, including iQiyi, Tencent Video and Alibaba’s Youku, announced releases of interactive drama series. Interestingly, all three series are romantic dramas. ‘Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw’ Scores August 23 China Release
It was announced recently that Universal Pictures’ upcoming buddy cop action comedy film Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw has been set to release in China on August 23. Starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, the film is a spin-off from The Fast & Furious franchise featuring two characters Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in the leading roles. The film will open in North America on August 2, 21 days before its China release.
