Short-video Company Kuaishou Invests in China’s Quora

On August 12, Zhihu, a Chinese online Q&A service similar to Quora, raised $434 million from its F round of financing led by Tencent backed short-video company Kuaishou and Baidu. Tencent and Bytedance, two existing investors of Zhihu, invested in this round as well. As China’s largest online knowledge platform of its kind, Zhihu has over 220 million users as of January 2019. However, the company hasn’t fully actualized its commercial potential. As a platform that gained its initial popularity among Chinese elites, Zhihu’s marriage with Kuaishou is expected to bring Zhihu more audiences from lower-tiered cities and diversify its content formats. Thai Film Friend Zone Scores September 2 China Release

Produced by the same team behind Bad Genius, the 2019 Thai romantic film Friend Zone has been re-scheduled to release in China on September 20.
