New York Film Festival 2020 Unveils Main Slate, With Three Chinese Languages Films Selected

Film at Lincoln Center announced its full 25-film lineup for the 58th New York Film Festival, with new features from Jia Zhangke, Tsai Ming-liang, Philippe Garrel, and Frederick Wiseman in addition to the previously announced opening, centerpiece, and closing selections from Steve McQueen, Chloe Zhao, and Azazel Jacobs. Three Chinese Languages Films including Jia Zhangke’s “Swimming Out Till the Sea Turns Blue”, director Song Fang’s “The Calming” and director Tsai Ming-liang’s “Days” are selected in the main slate. Beijing International Film Festival To Feature Multiple Screening Forms

Online, television and open-air screenings, the organizers of the 10th Beijing International Film Festival announced on Thursday that this year’s edition will feature various screening forms to meet with the nation’s strict pandemic prevention measures. The festival, which was originally scheduled for April but postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, will run from Aug. 22 to 29 in Beijing. More than 300 Chinese and overseas films will be screened at the festival, according to Zhang Xiaoguang, deputy director of the China Film Art Research Center. Zhang said a total of 250 films, including 50 new ones, will be screened online, and 24 classic films will be screened in open-air theaters. Read more Mtime
