“Has the Chinese Market Become a Dumping Ground for Hollywood’s Trash?” trumpeted a recent Beijing Daily headline, a pertinent question to consider in light of the smashing box office successes of xXx: The Return of Xander Cage and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter at Chinese cinemas.
