Wong Kar-wai’s Jet Tone Films to Handle International Sales of ‘Ennio: The Maestro’ 

Ennio: The Maestro, an upcoming documentary film about musician Ennio Morricone directed by Italian filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore, is now in post-production for a 2020 release. Wong Kar-wai serves as one of the film’s producers, along with Gianni Russo, Gabriele Costa, Peter De Maegd, and San Fu Maltha. Wong Kar-wai’s company, Jet Tone Films’ sale arm Block 2 Distribution, is currently handling the film’s international sales. Most of Tornatore’s film was scored by Ennio Morricone, including Cinema Paradiso, Malena, and The Legend of 1900. In 2019, the 4k restoration of The Legend of 1900 got a wide release in China. Bi Gan’s ‘Long Day’s Journey into Night’ and ‘Kaili Blues’ to Release in Japan

According to 1905.com, Bi Gan‘s first and second features, Kaili Blue (2015) and Long Day’s Journey into Night (2018), will be released in Japan in the next months. Long Day’s Journey into Night has been scheduled to open on February 28. A still of the film also made the cover of acclaimed Japanese film magazine Kinema Junpo. Kaili Blue will open in limited release on April 18. A Japanese poster of the film and a Japanese trailer have also been released recently. Read more on 1905.com
