How to improve Chinese filmmakers’ storytelling capabilities and how to support emerging talents have always been important topics, and this year is no different. Pema Tseden’s Tibetan-language Film ‘Jinpa’ Set for April 26 Release

Jinba, a 2018 Tibetan-language film, has been scheduled for theatrical release in China on April 26. Written and directed by Tibetan filmmaker Pema Tseden, Jinba is a revenge drama based on novels The Slayer and I Ran Over a Sheep. The film won Best Screenplay in the Horizons section at the 2018 Venice Film Festival. Executive produced by Wong Kar-wai, Jinba stars Tibetan actors Jinpa, Genden Phuntsok and Sonam Wangmo. ‘Penguin Highway’ May Get China Release

A Chinese trailer and a film poster for Japanese anime film Penguin Highway have been released today. This usually indicates that the film will be released theatrically in China soon. Based on the novel of the same name by Tomihiko Morimi, Penguin Highway is directed by Hiroyasi Ishida and stars Japanese actresses Yū Aoi, Kana Kita, and voice actress Rie Kugimiya.
