Shanghai TV Festival Will Take Place as Scheduled

The 26th Shanghai Television Festival (STVF) will be held as planned between June 8 -12, according to an official statement on STVF’s Weibo. In the statement, the festival also provided detailed guidelines for this year’s call for submissions. Taking place in June annually ahead of the Shanghai International Film Festival since 2004, the STVF is home to the Magnolia Awards, which is considered one of the most prestigious television awards in China. Beijing Film Bureau Releases Guidelines for Business Resumption

On Feb.26, Beijing Film Bureau released guidelines for film exhibitors and production companies to follow during their business resumption process.  For film exhibitors, the Bureau requires them to sell tickets in alternate rows and seats during the beginning phase of reopening. Theaters must be fully disinfected after every screening. Moviegoers are required to register their names and contact information with the cinemas, cooperate with cinema staff to have their body temperature taken, and wear masks during entire screening. Film production companies should also take their workers body temperature before allowing anyone to enter a workplace or movie set. All workers and cast/crew members are required to wear masks throughout working hours except actors when they are acting. Moreover, only production units with less than 50 people are allowed to shoot in Beijing. Production units with over 50 people cannot start filming until the outbreak is completely over.
