Disney Confirms A Theatrical Release for ‘Mulan’ in China

Disney revealed on Tuesday on its Weibo account that the much-anticipated “Mulan” had been cleared for a theatrical release in the Middle Kingdom, although the official date is not confirmed yet. The movie is heading directly to Disney+ on September 4 including countries such as U.S. and UK. Several Cinema Restrictions to Be Eased Soon, Starting from Major Cities Including Shanghai and Chengdu 

Local cinemas in Shanghai can operate up to half of the theater’s capacity starting from this Friday after the current 30 percent capacity limit is relaxed. Cinemas in Shanghai, as well as those in Chengdu in northwest China, said on Tuesday that they had received a notice from the government authority. The two-hour restriction on viewing periods will also be lifted.
