Several news agencies including Variety and The Hollywood Reporter have reported that the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival could take place at the end of July, but sources close to the organization insisted that they are still talking with the government to get permission to host public film screenings. As of today, there are still no concrete information regarding the opening of the festival or any film screening plans announced under the current circumstances. Streaming Giant IQiyi Announces Major Upcoming Drama and Variety Show Releases at IJOY Conference

Last week, China’s streaming website iQiyi announced a release list of 60 drama series and variety shows at its iJOY Conference held in Shanghai. Themed “New Content, New Consumption and New Growth”, the conference featured a series of speeches regarding the developing trends in online entertainment content and marketing, which were made by the company’s several senior executives including Vivian Wang, the company’s CMO and President of New Consumer Business Group, and Chen Xiao, the company’s Senior Vice President.
