Japanese Director Takeshi Kitano’s 1999 Award-winning Film “Kikujiro” Sets For China Release

The critically-acclaimed 1999 Japanese family film “Kikujiro” from the renowned Japanese director Takeshi Kitano, is set to make its Chinese mainland debut later this summer though the release date is yet to be announced. This will be the first time that the highly-rated film, which boasts 8.8 points out of 10 on the Chinese review platform Douban, hits the big screen on the Chinese mainland. The film’s storyline revolves around a young boy who sets out alone on the road to find his wayward mother. Tencent Music and Universal Music Inked a Deal of Multi-Year Licensing Agreement Extension and Establishment of New Joint Venture Music Label in China

Tencent Music Entertainment Group and Universal music Group just announced a multi-year extension of their licensing agreement. The two companies have also announced a new joint venture music label, which will be dedicated to reaching audiences across China through cultivating, developing, producing and showcasing highly talented domestic Chinese artists and premium original music. With the extension of the licensing agreement, TME will continue to distribute music from UMG’s world-renowned record labels and its stable of domestic and global recording stars on its platforms.
