Hong Kong Filmmaker Ann Hui Received Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award At Venice Film Festival

Celebrated Hong Kong director Ann Hui is granted the Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement award at the 77th Venice Film Festival. This is the first time a female director received this recognition. With a Golden Lion now featuring in her award cabinet, Hui confessed to feeling happy and honored. The 14th Asian Film Awards Unveiled Finalists, Chinese Film ‘So Long, My Son’ Received 7 Nominations

The 14th Asian Film Awards announced finalists for its 16 awards on Wednesday. Oscar best picture winner “Parasite,” produced by South Korean director Bong Joon-ho, led the lineup with 10 nominations, followed by Chinese drama films “So Long, My Son” and “Sunshine” each receiving seven nominations. Wang Jingchun and Yong Mei, who won the Silver Bear for Best Actor and Actress at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival with director Wang Xiaoshuai’s “So Long, My Son,” will also contend for the main acting awards this time.
