Endeavor China Appoints Sum Huang As CEO

As it seeks to widen its reach across China and Asia Pacific, Endeavor subsidiary Endeavor China has appointed media and entertainment executive Sum Huang as CEO. Huang was most recently co-founder and partner of XG Entertainment, a leading premium content provider in Asia, and previously spent five years with Hony Capital. Endeavor China was formed in 2016 through an investment group that includes Sequoia Capital China, Tencent and affiliates of FountainVest Partners. Read more Deadline

Chinese Animated Short Won at Palm Springs International ShortFest

he biggest event for short films in North America, a designated awards-qualifying event for the Oscars, Baftas and Goyas, the 2021 Palm Springs International ShortFest announced its juried award winners on 28th June. An animated short film, “Step into the River” (China/France), sponsored by Huion and directed by Weijia Ma, won the best animated short at the festival.
