Controversial Writer-Director Guo Jingmin Suspected of Breaching Agreement After Apologizing for Plagiarism

The controversial Chinese writer-director Guy Jingmin has once again incurred public criticism just two weeks after he apologized for plagiarism. In Guo’s public apology made on Dec 30, 2020, he promised to compensate the writer Zhuang Yu, the victim of his plagiarism behaviors, with all his income that he had made from the plagiarized works. However, Zhuang instead suggested Guo to use the money to build a foundation for anti-plagiarism. They later reached an agreement in which Zhuang would also donate the income she made from her original novel together with Guo’s compensation to build the foundation.
