Douyin’s Chinese Rival Kuaishou Flies for Hong Kong IPO

Chinese video-sharing app Kuaishou filed Thursday a prospectus to the Hong Kong stock exchange. The Beijing-based, Chinese version of TikTok—Douyin’s rival short-video platform, is the second largest short-video app in the world. It is also the second most popular app in that field in China, trailing Douyin in terms of average daily active users. In the prospectus, the company said it plans to use the capital it raises to enhance its ecosystem and strengthen research and development and technology.
