2019 Chinese New Year Gala to Utilize 5G Technology

On January 13, China Media Group, China Mobile and Huawei successfully tested the delivery of 4K footage through 5G technology. The tested technologies will be first used for the upcoming 2019 Chinese New Year Gala, which will take place at multiple venues including a main venue in Beijing and several sub-venues across China. The plan is to use 5G to send 4K footages from sub-venues back to Beijing to be edited and broadcasted. China Media Group, the predominant state media of China that combines China Central Television, China National Radio and China Radio International, has been active in experimenting with and utilizing 5G technology.
